Lisa Carlesso, PT, PhD
Dr. Carlesso is an Assistant Professor in the School of Rehabilitation Science at McMaster University and a physiotherapist with training as a clinical epidemiologist. She has received an OARSI Collaborative scholarship and an IASP Early Career Award to study pain phenotypes in people with knee OA. She is also the recipient of the Canadian Arthritis Society's STARS career development award. Her research program is broadly focused on optimizing outcomes for people with chronic musculoskeletal disorders by 1. Understanding the complex mechanisms of acute and persistent pain through pain phenotyping, 2. Improving prognosis and treatment of chronic musculoskeletal disorders and 3. Enhancing knowledge translation of evidence to improve clinical practice.
